Pre-Configuration via TAUC Web Interface

Pre-Configuration is the most reliable way to prepare Deco units for deployment. Pre-Configuration can be completed without opening the packaging for the Deco unit. This method will also ensure restoration of Pre-Configured SSID and PW in case the customer decides to press the reset button on their hardware, or if Deco unit somehow resets itself after a power surge.

Create a new client in TAUC and input the MAC / Serial of the primary, secondary and other additional mesh units intended for deployment to the customer. Once the unit has been added to management, navigate to the “Inventory” tab or search for the customer’s name. Click the gear button to reveal Pre-Configuration settings column, toggle Pre-Configuration ON and input preferred SSID / PW and other settings.

Pre-Configured Deco units will phone home to TAUC upon first boot to retrieve the Pre-Configuration settings. Nearby assigned mesh satellite units with hardwire or wireless backhaul will also retrieve and apply set Pre-Configuration details once the configured primary unit has been powered on, connected to the internet and is nearby.
